A 1–2 defeat to Aurora ended G2’s IEM Beijing run and extended a losing streak that began after their October 5 win over ShindeN.
G2 lost 1–2 to Aurora in the Group B lower bracket at IEM Beijing 2026. Aurora won Nuke 13–9, G2 replied by the same score on Inferno, and Aurora took Dust2 16–13 in overtime. It was G2’s sixth consecutive series defeat. Their last series win came on October 5, a 2–0 result against ShindeN at ESL Pro League Season 24.
Six series and a 4–12 map record
During the run, G2 lost twice to PARIVISION, twice to Aurora, and once each to NAVI and DENDELE. They won four maps and lost twelve, with a combined round score of 176–212. Half of the lost maps were decided by two or three rounds or in overtime. Several matches were competitive, but G2 repeatedly failed to convert close endings into series wins.
Three early exits in succession
The slump now covers three events. G2 finished ESL Pro League Season 24 with one series win in four attempts, then failed to win any series at PGL Masters Bucharest and repeated that outcome at IEM Beijing. In Beijing, defeats to PARIVISION and Aurora sent them out early. The sequence therefore points to a recurring issue across events rather than one bad bracket.
