The suppressor is part of the design
The long suppressor changes how M4A1-S skins look. Some designs paint it, others leave it dark. On the M4A1-S | Printstream, the white suppressor is the first thing to collect grime at higher wear. On the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast, it stays dark and the colour sits on the magazine, grip and handguard. On the M4A1-S | Black Lotus, the purple and blue paint fades toward grey at Battle‑Scarred, including on the suppressor. When you compare copies, look at the suppressor separately from the body.
Rarity and range: three examples
The Printstream and Hyper Beast are Covert, while the Black Lotus is Classified. All three can be found in every exterior: the Hyper Beast covers the full 0–1 range, the Printstream 0–0.80 and the Black Lotus 0–0.70. Other M4A1-S skins have much narrower ranges, so always check the float range on the skin's page before looking for a specific exterior. The float guide explains the basics.
M4A1-S or M4A4
Both rifles are in the counter-terrorist buy menu, and you choose one of them for the same slot in your loadout. Their skins are separate: a skin made for the M4A1-S can't be applied to the M4A4. If you are deciding which rifle to dress up, compare the two lineups; the M4A4 list is on the M4A4 page.
Matching sets
The Printstream design also exists on the Desert Eagle and the USP-S, which makes it easy to build a black-and-white set. More ideas are in the black and white selection and the blue skins selection.
Sources
Each skin page lists its collection and cases. The Printstream comes from the Operation Broken Fang Case, the Hyper Beast from the Chroma 2 Case, and the Black Lotus from the Kilowatt Case. All three have StatTrak™ versions.
