Valve speeds up Retakes endings and expands the map scripting API
The CS2 update changes defuse resolution in Retakes and adds new tools for map creators.

A Retakes round can now end immediately once a successful defuse is secured, while the map API gains new objects and methods.
Valve changed the Retakes logic so a bomb defuse can finish the round instantly when enough time remains and no active utility can still prevent it. Freeze time and the round restart delay were also reduced. The update should therefore remove waiting after a round has reached an outcome that can no longer be changed.
What changed in Retakes
During freeze time, pinging a pet chicken now asks it to perform a trick. Pet chicken names are also hidden when the game option for customized item text is disabled. These details do not alter competitive rules, but they make pet behavior more consistent with interface preferences.
New map API capabilities
For map scripts, Instance.Precache can now accept entities to precache. A new top-level Entities export includes Spawn, FireInput, FindByName, and FindByClass, while Instance.OnBotControl and CSPlayerController methods expose bot-control events and checks. Moved or renamed methods remain available at their old locations for now but are deprecated; calling a method on a removed Entity now reports that it is invalid.
